After a small hiatus we are getting back in the swing of things and are looking for new members and allies to join our ranks as we move forward in 2020 to build a community of like minded individuals to roleplay and build with us as we continue our journey forward.

The Moonlight Oasis is the name of the flagship establishment of the criminal organization by the name of Shogai. The Oasis doubles as a safehouse for most that need a place to call home, however, the safety of the established residents come first and reviews are in place to determine if an individual is considered too unsafe to house.

At a glance the Oasis is a lounge and restaurant that is periodically throughout the month with a focus on its Far East touches. The establishment is always looking for a few spare hands to help out in this regard.

However, The Oasis is also home to Shogai, a small Robin Hood style criminal organization that looks to find ways to swindle, con, or right out steal money and assets from the wealthy with the intentions of using them to aid those in need. In the past, Shogai has had a focus on Hingashi, however, recently it had shifted its focus to Eorzea with several small business ventures.

Shogai is known for housing all sorts of individuals and those more in the communities they circle would have, at least, heard of rumors or possible Yokai or even Voidsent among their ranks. But those are just rumors.
Shogai is an Eastern Themed criminal organization, similar to, but not Yakuza. They are known for their relaxed ways and understand that not everyone will stay for life. However, if one would wish, Shogai would happily welcome all who are interested into the family.
The Moonlight Oasis is a Heavy RP focused FC with Mature Themes. At no point is a member of the FC mandated to join in anything that they are uncomfortable with. It is understood that anyone who joins is free to enjoy any aspect of the roleplay that is established for the group, as well as deny. We want to bring a fun, mature, and friendly environment for all who join our community.

You do not need to be part of the FC to work for The Oasis or join Shogai story events. If you are interested in joining the FC or becoming an ally, please contact a member of the management team.
Because of the criminal activity, there may be some dark undertones to the stories, or it being the main story itself. However, we promise that at the start of a story we will warn and discuss any possible content that may affect a player in a negative manner. We do not look to cause any sort of mental distress on any player.

At NO point is a member of our Free Company or a member of our community expected to do anything they are uncomfortable with!

On the same note, no FC member will be expected to work at any public event. We want to cater and find ways to work with all sorts of

backgrounds. We do not want people to feel that they have to WORK at our events, however, if that is what you enjoy, we will not say no to assistance from members or allies.

I would like to start off this message saying, Happy Holidays to you and yours from all of us at Shogai. We thank you greatly for your support over the last year, with both events, and as an FC. We have met many wonderful people and look forward to the year to come. We have lots of big changes coming and we would love for everyone to be part of the next chapter as we build toward it.

2019 was an interesting year for us at Shogai. With this being my first real endeavour in Final Fantasy, it was a massive learning experience. I plan to utilize the things I have learned as an individual and as a group to bring help bring our events to the next level.

We begin this transformation by the announcement of the shift in FC name. Shogai will be changing to The Moonlight Oasis; <Oasis>. This has been an ingame thing for about a month, Shogai has dropped back to a rank within. We still will be having our criminal undertones, however, the Entertainment Venues and Safehouse theme will be taking a focus. With this announcement, we will be opening recruitment.

Shogai will now be a Robin Hood Criminal organization that works within The Moonlight Oasis, the group’s flagship of its up and coming entertainment venues. The group strives to lighten the pockets of the wealthy through means that are as legal as possible, this is, and is not limited to, gambling, overpriced goods for the wealthy, and through the use of auction houses. They will use these funds to support any who call the safehouse home first, and from there, distribution of goods goes to families in need.

This really won’t change things from outside the FC, we still have a number of amazing events planned to keep things engaging for those who aren’t a member. We are also working toward establishing some connections for allies and will be maintaining several social nights on top of a set schedule of events per month.

We also have had a few shifts within for our ‘Management’ team. We are all working actively to achieve and maintain a set standard to our events so everyone can know what to expect from us as a community.

Every month we will be hosting four events on a very set schedule. There will be one exception to this. Every LAST Friday of the month will be a public rave, right now it’s set for Sagolii Desert. However, in celebration for the new year, our first Sundown in Sagolii will be held on January 3rd, and then again on January 31st. This is the only exception to our line up, and it’s only so we have a massive party to set off our changes!

Our standard schedule will follow the following outline:

First and Third Monday will be The Moonlight Oasis event. With a focus on the lounge on the first Monday and Suisei on the third. As part of the lounge, we will be hosting an open mic. However, with such short notice, I am not sure if we have time to set it up for January, so we will be starting this in February.

Every Second Thursday of the month, I will be hosting a cafe inside the Sultana’s Shopping Arcade. Bomberry is Yosei’s side project, but still will operate under the Shogai/Oasis banner. This means that I will strive to uphold the same standard we will establish.

Finally, as stated above, the final Friday of every month will be the Raves. The raves are meant to create a completely, low impact event for people to come, socialize, and listen to some tunes. This will be hosted by DJ Shobu, however, other DJs may be featured.

Along with these set events, we will be working on offering at least one Open Social RP event a month on a Tuesday. These will be likely held at the FC house. No members of the FC will be working staff, however, the Namazu staff members will be available for service as usual. This is a way for our members to connect with you in a ‘non-work’ environment. 

In all honesty, that was one of my biggest grievances with Suisei. So many people would come in and want to socialize, however, we weren’t able to engage on the level we would like. At no point did we want to make it seem like one patron got more attention than another, and balancing it became stressful. So, the idea of a monthly social event is to help with that. 

Then, there is my personal projects. I have had so much fun working with Aegir and the Gold and Glory group with the big server wide events. So, moving forward, I would like to try to keep that trend going. I have one more planned for February 29th, after that, I will discuss things to see what people would like to do. I was originally planning for every 3 months, however, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to hold an event on leap day.

All in all, we have so much coming in the next year and look forward to spending it with all of you, Crystal Data Center! Your support has been beyond words. I never thought I would be where I am in a year. Here is to 2020, new experiences, new friends, new memories!
