Aragorn (Dr. Arvak) serves as a professor of Aetherology and the Arcane Arts at the University of Ala Mhigo in the Ala Mhigan Quarter. He was born in Ala Gannha shortly before the Garlean occupation of Ala Mhigo and it's surrounding territories, being raised in a traditional family of monks who hailed from the Fist of Rhalgr. Because of these circumstances, Aragorn was encouraged to take up monkhood and martial arts from a very young age, and began his physical and mental training at the tender age of 8. When the Garleans began their forced occupation of the Ala Mhigan territories 5 years later, Aragorn decided to abandon his home in search of greater knowledge and a means by which to fight back against the Garleans who had stolen his life from him.
After many years of studying in the Sharlayan Studium, Aragorn came across a means by which he found it possible to combine that which he practiced as a child and that which he studied as a young adult; the lost art of summoning. Aragorn discovered that it is indeed possible to give egis and similarly created entities capabilities to succeed in martial arts of various styles. This discovery earned Aragorn renown both in Sharlayan and abroad, particularly in Ala Mhigo, where these techniques were adopted and used with great success against the Garlean Empire. Nowadays, Dr. Arvak teaches classes on summoning, aetherology, and black magic at the University of Ala Mhigo. He is also writing his thesis, titled "Influences of Martial Arts on Eorzean Magicks", while he continues to hone his skills of both combat and culinary arts at his home in the newly constructed Empyreum District of Ishgard.

Although Dr. Arvak resides in Ishgard, and teaches in Ala Mhigo, he can often be seen interacting with the various guilds of Limsa Lominsa, namely the Arcanist and Culinarian guilds. The Arcanist Guild has been a longtime supporter of his research and writings on the topics of Aetherology, and the Culinarian Guild has found a place in his heart as the primary location to unwind with his favorite pastime: making delicious foods for him and his friends to share.The Fist of Rhalgr:
Dr. Arvak's association with the Fist of Rhalgr can be described as troublesome at best; despite the widespread success of his fusion of summoning and martial arts, not everyone took well to this usage of traditional Ala Mhigan techniques, not least of all the monks of the Fist of Rhalgr. Although Dr. Arvak is well trained in their style of martial arts, many monks see his research as a corruption of traditional culture and have publicly denounced his work. Because of this controversy, Dr. Arvak very rarely associates himself with the Fist of Rhalgr, despite his personal history and ties with the order.

Dr. Arvak's Weekly Lectures
- Dr. Arvak holds weekly lessons on various topics at his classroom, which is located in Mateus Shirogane, Ward 2 Plot 52, Room 1.- These lectures are held every Saturday at 9:00 PM EST.- There are no requisites or requirements to show up to class; anyone who is willing to listen and learn is welcome to join in! It is totally open to the public.- No real dress code, although anything that would distract Dr. Arvak or fellow students would not be allowed.- If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me in game.
