Tricks of the Traders
Growing to be the best of friends, Strixxi and Vastra took very different paths to find their way to the Goblet. Having met on one of their journeys, Strixxi boarded a ship meant to sail for distant lands, meeting Vastra on board. What followed was a series of hijinks, proving once and for all that they could rely on one another, and an idea was born.Born a powerful mage, Strixxi used her Mhachian heritage to the fullest when she set out to explore the world and faced ever increasing challenges along the way. Looking to help the many people struggling across Eorzea by giving some of it back to those in need, she would burn away their problems. Yet even with all her good intentions, the young witch couldn’t help herself from causing mischief now and again, for better or for worse. With her potions and trinkets galore, imbued with the most ancient of magicks, she now helps all who come to Tricks of the Traders in search of aid.Faring the seas from a young age, Vastra felt most at home whenever the ship made port and he would find himself in a tavern. A cold jug of ale would always soothe the nerves he felt from being out for so long. An ex-pirate turned Maelstrom soldier, this son of a cloth merchant did his fair share of travelling, documenting much of his findings for his own amusement and carrying out the orders he was given. When he left his service behind, he found himself landlocked and yearning for the taverns of his younger years. Now he serves drinks below deck, as he likes to call it, offering all who visit a place to call home away from it.
Information
At Tricks of the Traders we aim to create an open and stimulating environment where both experienced RP'ers as well as completely new players are welcome to join. Taking inspiration from the good old shops and taverns in tabletop RPGs, our goal is to prompt others to have fun and enjoy the boundless possibilities of their imagination.We do not ask for any gil for our services and wish to keep it that way. If you are so inclined, you may pay what you or the character you play would think it was worth.
Every week 3 new prompts will be provided on our quest board in the tavern, urging adventurers to take up their travels with new friends and allies! These prompts carry no obligations or needs to report back, yet we do love a tale of a job well done. Prompts are solely written to encourage roleplay and get you started, there are no rights or wrongs. The prompts can also be found in our discord.
If you are shy, apprehensive or otherwise need a little help to get you going, please use the Looking for Party icon. That way staff and veterans alike can help you join the fun.

Rules
Tricks of the Traders is an immersive SFW roleplaying venue, please use in-character speech and keep out-of-character messages in ((brackets)) and at minimum.
Be respectful towards all staff and patrons
Staff will act entirely in-character during openings except for private /tell messages.
We are strictly SFW! No explicit activities allowed, this includes suggestive emotes or expressions, excessive innuendos and nude glamours.
Weapons are allowed as we’re an adventure focused venue.
Please hide minions as they take a spot in guest capacity
Fighting/combat or otherwise dramatic RP is allowed but only with consent of all parties involved
Please keep the /shout and /yell channels free for staff
Keep the ‘looking for meld’ icon free for staff
When /say chat is busy, be mindful and disable log emote text.
If anyone or anything is making you uncomfortable please use /tell to inform the staff! We love to help but we need to be informed
Refrain from bringing real-life drama into the venue.

Blessings and Hexes
Whether you want to shower a loved one in good fortune or your enemies in misfortune, Strixxi doesn’t pry about the details. For a small fee she’ll help you with your magical message.Examples include;

Potioncraft
Strixxi’s big cauldron at the back of the store is always bubbling away. (This one is not for the stew!) She tries her best to brew the strongest potions to keep her patrons safe out on their adventures. Or are my potions too strong for you traveller?
Thaumaturgy Teachings
Coming from a long line of mages Strixxi was taught to hold a staff as soon as she could stand. She loves to share these teachings of the arcane with those willing. So for our curious apprentices we offer training grounds in the garden of the venue.
